How do you feel about self-publishing?  I admire anyone who self-publishes, and go back and forth myself with stepping into it too.  Some of my favorite authors are Indies!
How important are friends in your life?  My friends are very important to me.  I have a small, but very close group of friends who are my constant support and playmates.  I’ve learned that it’s not about how many friends you have, it’s about how many good friends you have.
What social issues interest you the most?  Bullying is a huge issue for me right now, being I am a teacher and mother.  With the accessibility to technology, kids are exposed to bullying not only at school, but the internet.  So much of it happens on the internet, and kids (and adults) see it as a way to harass and hurt others from the protection of a screen.  I think a lot needs to be done to protect and educate our children about bullying, and its effects on society.
Do you find the time to read? Yes, but at times it’s hard because I also have to write.  I read fifty-two books this summer and my TBR list is ridiculous.  I love love love to read and there are so many great books out there, I wish I had more time for them all!
Last book you purchased? Tell us about it.  I just read Allegiant, by Veronica Roth.  It was the third book in the Divergent series, and I have been waiting FOREVER to read it!  Without using spoilers, it was simply amazing!
Who do you admire?  My mom.  She raised my brother, who is only ten months older than me, my twin sister and me all on her own.  She never once said a bad word about our father, worked hard, I never felt like I went without anything, even though we didn’t have much.  She is an amazingly strong person.
What is your favorite quality about yourself?  That I set goals and follow through.  I wasn’t always that way, but have become a very accomplished person in my life, doing the things I have always wanted to try.
What is your least favorite quality about yourself? I am very sensitive.  I wish I didn’t care what people thought about me…but I do.
What’s your favorite place in the entire world?  Hawaii.  I could never live there, but boy could I visit there A LOT!!
Excerpt
Dalton
I looked up to see the exit through the dark smoke before me. But standing before the door was Olivia. She was free from the spell Ava and the others had put her under giving me hope that they had escaped.
Olivia’s voice one again slithered. “Did you really think we would let you get away? Ava and Hannah are ours!”
She pointed her wand at me before I could react, sending paralyzing pain through my body. I dropped again to my knees, with Patrick still unconscious, crashing to the ground.
I couldn’t move as Olivia came closer, with each step making the unbearable pain worse. It felt as though every limb was laced with razor blades, not missing a spot as they sliced through my body.
Olivia stared at me seemingly unaffected by the ruble crashing down around her. “Your coven will not stand a chance against us now. You will be finished!”
The pain was so intense I could do nothing but yell in agony. Not only the pain from my tortured body, but knowing that I could not save Hannah and Ava.
