The Howling HeartThe Howling Heart by April Bostic
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Where theme and execution were concerned, Bostic's style is straightforward and appeals directly to the reader's sensory so you are able to feel the motions of the characters. I was not expecting the twist where werewolves can become humans so this made the story much more enjoyable for me.

However, the formatting of the book we received was disastrous. Let me quote.

tree. With its coloring, it lacked natural camouflage. I

and so it went. It got to a point none of us could get through the mobi version and the tour organiser then gifted us fresh copies from Amazon which were better.

Outside the formatting issues, the most chilling scene in the book for me was when Riley and Aidan talk about Zoe's 'murder.' Was it really murder if you are standing up for the person you love? I would have liked to connect with Paige but she sometimes seemed as if she didn't want to be understood so if I had to pick my favourite character, it would be Riley.
